I went into detail about this in my previous update post “Get Ready!” but basically, I do make some CC and mods for TS4. Right now, I’m hosting those downloads here on my story blog but I’d like my story blog to stay dedicated to my stories. I’ve been thinking about having a separate website for my mods and CC. You’d know exactly where to go to find downloads if that’s what you’re after and you’d be able to find all my CC and mod downloads a lot easier on a site dedicated to hosting them, rather than as an afterthought on a blog designed for Sims stories. Alternatively (but most importantly, I think), this blog will be just about my stories so you can focus 100% on the stories while you’re here. The stories are what I’m most passionate about.
That’s my reasoning for hosting my CC and mods on their own website but what do you think? Cast a vote, please! Happy Simming!
I promise I am not disappearing on you all again for months on end, I’m trying really hard to break that awful habit. I’m actually waiting for Get Together to launch so I can start working on the next Waverunner chapter, yay! I’ve been pretty critical of this expansion ever since it was first announced (I still am, quite honestly) but I do have a story idea for Seb and his eclectic family that involves some Get Together content so I will be buying it when it releases thanks to my amazingly selfless boyfriend. He could be at home that day, playing the expansion that he preordered digitally but instead he’s sacrificing that important play time to spend the day with me so we can do Christmas shopping and I can grab Get Together for myself. He is the best. You’ll have to thank him when the next Waverunner chapter comes out. 😉
Hey guys, I try not to clutter up my blog with too many of these update things but this one was worth mentioning.
First off, nothing’s getting discontinued! There’s just been a bit of a delay. I ended up with a particularly vicious and nasty virus on my computer that I couldn’t get rid of no matter what I did. Continue reading →
I hope you’ve been doing well. I’ve been great, just enjoying the fall season. I got back from a small vacation with my boyfriend not too long ago and I’m feeling refreshed. I just wanted to let you know that the blog will be in hibernation for the month of November due to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). It’s a worldwide challenge that happens every November and the goal is to write a novel in one month, or, more specifically, 50,000 words in 30 days. I’ve been a part of NaNoWriMo for five years and I’ll be participating again this year. I’m very excited as this will be the first year since my very first year where I’m not in university and don’t have the pressures of school to hinder my progress this November. I’ll be free to focus completely on NaNoWriMo all month. This of course means that New Reflections will be on hiatus for November but not to worry; I have new chapters in the works and can’t wait to get back to them in December.
Notice anything different about the blog? Yep! It’s gotten a face lift! I thought with the release of a whole new generation of Sims, it was only appropriate to give the blog a fresher look, but it doesn’t just look nicer; I’ve taken the time to reorganize my blog to make it easier to navigate. Now you can see all of my pages in drop-down menus from the home page and go directly to the page you’re looking for with one click. I hope this makes it more enjoyable for you to spend time on my blog and find the things you want to find without any hassle.
I’m just writing this as a little update to keep you all posted about what’s going on with this blog. Good news, nothing’s being discontinued! Yay! I plan to keep going with the Waverunners and with Alexis’ little mini-story. Alexis’ mini-story is actually about 95% completed in terms of screenshots, so it shouldn’t take any time away from the Waverunners and I’m planning on capturing some great shots in my Waverunner file this weekend for the upcoming chapter which I am insanely excited about so I hope you are, too!
Additionally, I’m toying with an idea that you guys get to weigh in on! I have a little Sims 2 project in the works right now on my Simblr that follows the lives of the premade families in Desiderata Valley (plus the Ramaswamis that I moved into that neighbourhood just because I like them). I originally was just going to have that project on my Simblr, but the more I started delving into the lives of these Sims, the more the idea developed and I feel like it would suit this blog much better than my Simblr. It would likely be a bit closer in writing style to the Waverunners than Alexis in the City, and each chapter would cover seven Sim-days in a different family’s household, though all the families will be very interconnected with one another in various ways.
I wanted to ask you if you would like to see a Sims 2 series like that on this blog and if you are, please leave a comment saying so because if I get no feedback on this post, I’ll just assume that there isn’t much interest in this project and keep it on a smaller scale on my Simblr. The Waverunners would not be put on hold for the sake of this project, so don’t worry about that. I’ve got plenty of stuff coming up for them. 😉
If you’d like to read a bit more about my Desiderata Valley project and see some pictures before deciding, you can read all my Desiderata Valley posts and my progress thus far on the project right here on my Simblr under the Desiderata Valley tag.
Please let me know what you think and happy Simming!
Oh my goodness, it’s been months since I updated with a new chapter! I’m very sorry for that, folks. My summer was more stressful than I had anticipated and school is keeping me busy now.
BUT I have not forgotten about this legacy. I’m at my parents for a week for fall break and I’m in a big Simming mood so hopefully I can get a chapter out this week before school devours me again. There’s no way I’d abandon the Waverunners unless some horrible game glitch ruins my file or something like with the Charms… but let’s hope that doesn’t happen. I’m crossing my fingers!
